STAINLESS OR ALUMINISED STEEL QUARTZ CASSETTE BODIES
This report describes a series of experiments on Quartz cassettes in which Stainless Steel and Aluminised steel reflector materials were compared. Tests were performed with reflectors and without reflectors.
Stainless steel bodies, while shiny at first, tend to discolour rapidly with temperature. In order to assess the effect of this discolouration, a brand new “clean” stainless steel element was tested for heat flux.
The results are shown and discussed as part of this paper.
