Quartz Infrared Heating Elements

A versatile and popular radiant emitter, infrared quartz heating elements provide an instant heat response wherever it’s needed, across a variety of industrial process applications. Normally favoured and used for industrial processes that require rapid heating and/or zone-controlled heating. Quartz elements heat up in seconds, which is much faster than ceramic heaters. This makes them particularly efficient and effective for manufacturing processes such as plastic thermoforming and curing, as well as for heater systems with long off cycles. Operating up to 750°C (1380°F), infrared quartz radiant heater produces wavelengths in the 1.5 – 8-micron spectrum, which is slightly shorter than that of ceramic elements. They operate at a standard voltage of 230V and standard wattages range from 150W to 1000W. Full technical data for all our quartz elements are available on each product page. Inside each emitter, a coil heats up when powered on, and the surrounding material—whether ceramic or quartz—transfers and radiates that heat outward.

What’s the standard supply voltage for ceramic and quartz emitters?

The standard rated voltage is 230V. With other voltage ratings available on request, we can design the heating element to operate at different power outputs and with different voltage ratings for extra cost/minimum order.

Why should quartz elements always be mounted horizontal?

Quartz heating elements should always be mounted horizontally to ensure structural integrity of the coil and quartz glass.
